Welcome to
Kinkuba Basenji’s
and
Oridgenal Rhodesian Ridgeback’s
Welcome to the Kinkuba Basenji’s and Oridgenal Rhodesian Ridgeback’s website. My name is Dan McGinley. I’ve been involved with Basenji’s for 22 years and with Rhodesian Ridgebacks for 18 years. I’ve been interested in (obsessed with) dogs my whole life. I live in rural Jasper, GA, USA, with my 5 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and 5 Basenji’s. My dogs are all housedogs and I am as devoted to them as they are to me.
I compete in conformation dog showing and have ‘finished’ many AKC champions. I have competed in lure coursing and finished multiple ASFA field champions. I have participated in obedience training, canine good citizenship, temperament testing, herding and agility training. I have also bred top performing dogs in agility, obedience, lure coursing and conformation. My dogs have been featured on calendars, in magazines, and on the ‘Laurelwood’ plates.
I am a longtime member of both breed parent clubs, RRCUS and BCOA. I am a past president of the Etowah Basenji Club (now defunct), and a past president and current board member of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Association of Metro Atlanta. I have also been a member of multiple lure coursing clubs.
Why Basenji’s and Rhodesian Ridgebacks?
Why not! I will discuss each breed under each breed header.
I breed on a limited basis. I breed a litter of Rhodesian Ridgebacks approximately every 18 months and a litter of Basenji’s approximately every 2-3 years. My goal is to breed temperamentally sound dogs who are healthy and who conform to their breed standards. I strive to place them in ‘Lifetime’ homes where they are part of a family and home. I screen prospective homes carefully to achieve this goal. I am planning to breed a litter of Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Basenji’s in 2010.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me by email.
